What do we mean by “Comprehensive” SEO Services?

So, these two things might seem a bit contradictory, so hang with us for a minute here. The truth is, it takes time to build trust with SEO.
We’ve found that it is usually more effective for us to go really in-depth optimizing a few, strategic pages at a time instead of doing a little bit of work on a lot of pages at once. Therefore, our approach is to do very in-depth work on a few pages and/or ranking factors each month until you begin receiving regular contacts from potential new clients. The strategy is flexible and individualized, grounded in the values of the mental health community. This traditional, on-page comprehensive optimization strategy in our Done-For-You Program is a 6-month commitment as we’ve found that is the “sweet spot” where we tend to get the best results.
Frequent Questions About Our Done-For-You SEO Services
What Can I Expect With Done-For-You SEO Services?
New clients can expect a customized and individualized approach to their SEO strategy, in partnership with their assigned SEO team of specialists and reviewers. During this intensive, 6-month portion of the SEO journey, clients can generally expect that their services pages will be fully optimized, blog posts encouraged and optimized, and a list management strategy to be implemented to properly prepare their website for sustainable, stable SEO success. The exact strategy will be based on your individual practice needs, as the assigned SEO team will adapt to the needs of each client on a monthly basis.
What is Included With On-Page Optimization?
For each page of your website that we optimize, we will generally:
Do keyword research to identify the specific keywords your ideal clients are using in the area you live (or offer counseling services)
Write a quality Meta Description for readers to see in search results
- Optimize Headings & Subheadings for accessibility, SEO, and site structure
- Optimize at least 3 optimized photos per page contracted each month
- We will add alt text to all photos currently on the page and if needed will add additional photos. If you do not like the photos we choose to add, we will replace each photo once to make sure you have photos consistent with your brand that will also help you rank for the keywords we’re targeting. We typically use BigStock photos if we are adding them to your site.
- We do not do photo editing such as adding filters to photos. Therefore, some of our site owners choose to add their own photos to ensure brand consistency across the site.
- Add internal links to other pages on your website. Unless you have a preference otherwise, we typically place these in a “Call to Action” and an “Other Services” section near the bottom of each page. These sections include many internal links pointing to other pages from the optimized page. Internal links are added in the main body of the page as well when appropriate.
- Do Basic Copy Editing – We will edit the body of your text to help use language that will improve your ranking and convert clients. This includes:
- Naturally incorporating keywords into your text
- Improving Readability by shortening sentences, reducing passive voice on the page, adding transition words, adding sentences or even short sections to include keywords, etc. We are most effective with this part on WordPress sites because we use the Yoast plugin.
- If needed, we may add short sections with keyword-dense subheadings. For instance, we may add a section called “Symptoms of _____” that then lists the symptoms. Another example would be a section called “Counseling helps _____” which is meant to provide the client with hope
- We try to use client-friendly, easy-to-understand language whenever possible and incorporate everything we’ve learned about compelling copywriting from reading blog posts & books, attending training, listening to podcasts, etc.
- Please note: If your page needs to be completely rewritten we will ask that you do that or charge our copywriting fee.

What is the Time Commitment for SEO Services?
New clients commit to at least 6 months of intensive, ongoing comprehensive SEO services. This is because SEO doesn’t happen overnight. We’ve found that at least 6-months of ongoing, customized SEO services tends to ensure the best possible results for most of our clients. Clients with multiple specialties, multiple clinicians, and/or in highly competitive areas may need to plan on 6-12 months of active Done-For-You SEO work.
The main thing we want you to know is that you aren’t paying for this intensive level of services indefinitely, but it will take a while.
SEO is not an instant process.
After our clients finish using our comprehensive SEO services, we move to an Alumni/Maintenance package for at least 6-months to provide support to sustain these efforts. This is because you want to continue to monitor traffic to your website, be aware of any major changes in the SEO world and do a few other things to keep your SEO up. But know that after you rank pretty well, your site just doesn’t need the same intense level of work. So, our Alumni packages are meant to help clients continue to have support to maintain their rankings with slight, gradual improvements.
How Do Staff and Clients Communicate About SEO Work?
You will meet with our staff via Zoom every month. These 60-minute calls are planned strategically in order to give you time to develop new content, as needed. In the first month, we’ll give you an overview of what to expect working with us, and make recommendations about what order to target pages to get you the best return on investment and your individual preferences. We will also discuss your SEO goals, your local market, etc. Most importantly, this is your chance to ask us questions.
After the first month, you’ll use the calls to give us feedback so we can fine-tune our approach and ensure we exceed your expectations! During this call, one of our staff will review your data with you so you understand the impact of what we’ve done so far and we can discuss how to tweak our strategy if we’re not getting the results we hoped for. Furthermore, we’ll begin planning what pages or SEO tasks our staff will work on in the upcoming month.
These Zoom calls are required for the first two months but are optional in future months.
How Will We Start? What Will We Do First?
Our job is to make sure that your website is well suited for optimal rankings on the most popular search engines. So, there is an onboarding fee assessed for all new clients. During (or before) the first month of service:
Clients will have a 45-60 minute onboarding session with at least one member of their SEO team, during which they will receive login credentials for the Simplified SEO Data Dashboard tool, used for the duration of our active SEO and Alumni relationship.
A baseline technical site audit will be conducted with technical suggestions sent,
A structural review of the website will be conducted with suggestions sent
e.g. identifying H1s, additional services pages needed, footer information, NAP information, basic structure, etc.
The Home page meta description will be updated to reflect the current needs/goals of the client with relevant SEO practices
Baseline keyword research, with location indicators, will be completed and added to the tracking portion of the client’s Data Dashboard
Baseline SEO competitor research will be completed
Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Google Business Profile accounts will be connected by either the SEO Specialist and/or client to establish baseline analytics
Additional SEO suggestions will be made, in response to client goals, needs, and market
Can I Add Copywriting or Upgrade My Plan?
Extra points for copywriting or other SEO tasks can be purchased before the 1st of the month. Your SEO specialist can send you a one-time invoice for $200/point. Most commonly, one “point” is used to purchase 1 page of copywriting, a month of List Management service (part of a 6-month commitment), or 1 additional page of comprehensive optimization.

Can I Downgrade My Plan After Starting?
No. We plan our staffing and software subscriptions around the plans as they are contracted. That is why we try to make the consultation and client care process very thorough so you are able to make an educated decision about your Done-For-You package. In very limited cases (ex: You have a major medical issue or family emergency and can’t get content up in time to meet the deadlines) our SEO specialist will make recommendations to use your points in line with your SEO goals. However, with supervisor approval, it may be possible to carry over points from a single month once during the duration of your 6-month intensive SEO journey.
What if I Want to Stop SEO Services Prior to the End of My 6-Month Commitment?
Our contract for service is for a consecutive, 6-month commitment. It is important to understand that SEO is an investment that is meant to be intensive for a time-limited season and then maintained appropriately to sustain rankings and growth. We’ve found that it is difficult to see results without at least 6-months of consistent work using a proven strategy. Further, we plan our staffing and software subscriptions based on your commitment to services. Therefore, we do respectfully enforce our contract terms.
In extreme circumstances (ex: You decide to close your practice) you can talk to our supervisors about potentially ending a contract early but will incur a fee of at least $100 per month left on the contract to help cover the cost of what we have invested in our own tools and staffing with the anticipation of working on your site.
What if I Want to Continue With Done-For-You SEO Services Beyond 6-Months?
6 months is more of a minimum for intense SEO work. If we’ve made progress but haven’t really gotten to where we want to be after 6 months, you can keep going with one of these packages. That said, the majority of people do transition to a less intensive “alumni” plan somewhere around 6-8 months.
When Can I Expect to See Results from SEO Work?
Measurable results will depend on many factors including how long you’ve owned your domain, if you’ve done previous SEO work, the amount of relevant copy already on your website, how competitive of an area in which you live, etc. That said, most of our clients in our traditional SEO program have started to notice at least some direct benefits of the SEO work we do by the end of month 4.
If you’re on the plan we recommend and still not seeing at least a small increase in calls by the end of month 4, we may start to talk about a way to change up your strategy. Luckily, this Done-For-You SEO Program allows for your SEO specialist to make this change to your strategy midway through your work as needed. We believe in being data-driven and listening to you as the client, so we will individualize our approach based on that.
